Books that Every Small Business Owner Can Benefit From
The $100 Startup is one of my all-time favorite small business books. The author, Chris Guillebeau, uses case studies to illustrate business essentials and highlight various ways of doing business. He focuses on ways to start businesses that require very little initial capital. I find myself referring to sections of this book regularly for a refresher on the principles he teaches.
Listen to any business podcast, read and business blog, what will you hear time and time again . . . business growth. Company of One goes against the tide, and preaches a message of staying small, keeping things simple, and focusing on efficiencies, while increasing profits and overall enjoyment of your business. A must read for those of us wear of the constant hustle mantra!
Books for the Handmade Seller or Etsy Seller
The Handmade Marketplace was one of the first books I read when my family and I decided to start a handmade jewelry business way back in 2009. As a newbie handmade seller I found this book super helpful as it walks you through all stages of business ownership as a handmade crafter. This is the 2nd edition which has been updated for current trends and changes in the online space over the past several years.
